Elective Surgery Resumes In Queensland! Help Us Keep Our Community Covidsafe.

Elective surgery is back on in Queensland!

Thanks for your patience and understanding during this time as we cancelled and rescheduled many of your surgeries with no real end in sight.   Naturally we will be resuming elective surgery with caution and the safety of our community will always be at the front of our minds. There will be some extra safety precautions we will need you to assist us with given Covid-19 is still a very real risk in our community. Thanks Queensland for trying so hard and looking forward to seeing you again in the coming days, weeks and months ahead!

In order to keep you and our community safe whilst attending our rooms for face-to-face consultations please assist us with the following:
  1. All patients attending for a face-to-face appointments will be required to complete our Covid-19 pre-appointment questionnaire at least 2 days prior to your appointment.   You can find the questionnaire here.
  2. Vulnerable or at risk patients should consider the option of telehealth or online consultations where practical.  You can find out more about online consultations here.
  3. Attend your appointment at your scheduled time.  If you arrive early please remain in our building foyer or your car until your scheduled appointment time.
  4. Please attend your appointment alone unless pre-arranged with our practice manager in advance.  Please refrain from bringing friends, family and children to your appointment as this increases the number of people in our rooms and prevents social distancing.
  5. Please make use of the washrooms located just outside our office on level 4 to wash your hands on arrival and departure.
  6. Apply hand sanitiser provided at our reception lounge on arrival and departure.
  7. Please respect social distancing requirements and remain 1.5m away from other patients and staff. Footshake only!
  8. Temperature - for your safety and the safety of our community, temperatures will be taken on arrival.
  9. Please follow government guidelines with respect to travel and isolation as this will also apply to your appointments and surgery.
But that’s not all! We’ve also made changes within our practice to help provide a covidsafe environment:
  • All magazines have been removed from the waiting room to reduce the number of surfaces that need cleaning.
  • We’re encouraging patients to pay for your consultation prior to your appointment to reduce the length of time and contact with our community.
  • Typically our team will not be wearing face masks during consultations, however, for any close treatment procedures our team will wear face masks and if you prefer you may also wear one at your request.
And of course, there are the universal precautions we follow ALL the time ... not just when there’s a pandemic!
  • We regularly sanitise communal and high touch areas to reduce the chances of contaminated surfaces.  More frequent wiping down of benches and door handles is also occurring between patients.
  • Our employees continue to exercise the highest levels of personal hygiene including frequent and proper hand washing, use of hand sanitiser, wearing face masks and gloves in the treatment room, and staying home if feeling at all unwell!
  • We continue to sterilise all equipment used during treatment, and wipe down treatment beds with disinfectant between EVERY single appointment.
