Areola and Nipple Tattooing Following Breast and Nipple Reconstruction

Areola re-pigmentation and nipple tattooing is the final stage of breast reconstruction and is considered by:

  • ladies with areola colour and/or nipple loss
  • ladies with or without nipple reconstruction.

The Tattooing process may begin 12-16 weeks after surgery, please check with Dr Eddie Cheng to confirm your suitability and timing.

Before Mastectomy and Immediate Breast reconstruction due to breast cancer.

After 2 stage Immediate Breast Reconstruction with Tissue Expander and Breast Implants.

After breast reconstruction and 3D Areola and Nipple Tattooing

Top Patient Tip Before Nipple Tattooing

A great suggestion from one of our breast reconstruction patients is to purchase adhesive silicone nipples in the first instance to trial the best colour and size options for your breasts.    Tracey G Prosthetics and Lingerie store onsite here at the Wesley Hospital stock amoena adhesive nipples for approximately $70. You may also wish to review your preoperative photos to recall colour and size of your own nipples to assist decisions relating to your tattoo.
