Tropical Cyclone Alfred: AR Plastic Surgery’s Patient Care Plan & Important Updates

At AR Plastic Surgery, we are closely monitoring Tropical Cyclone Alfred and preparing for any potential impact on our patients, team, and facilities. Many in our community have previously experienced the challenges of severe weather and flooding, and we hope that those who may be affected are as well-prepared as possible.

Clinic Operations & Temporary Closure

At this stage, we plan to operate as normal on Wednesday; however, due to the expected severe weather conditions, there is a high likelihood of clinic closure and the postponement of surgeries on Thursday 6 and Friday 7 March. This decision has been made to prioritise the safety of our patients, team, and hospital partners.

Our team will continue to assess the situation and provide updates based on overnight information and the Premier’s next scheduled address.

Patient Care & Support During the Closure

While our clinic may be closed for in-person care, we are ensuring that essential patient support remains available:

✅ Urgent Post-Operative Care via Telehealth

• A team member will be available during the day to provide urgent post-operative care via Telehealth.
• Patients can call (07) 3870 3960 for support during restricted office hours 8.30 am -4.00pm

✅ Rescheduling of Non-Urgent Appointments

• All non-urgent appointments and procedures originally scheduled for Thursday and Friday will be rescheduled to next week.
• Our team will contact affected patients to assist with new booking times.

✅ Prescription Refills & Post-Operative Care Advice

• Patients requiring prescription refills or post-operative care advice should contact us by Wednesday midday to ensure they have everything they need before the closure. Scripts are not medical emergencies. 

✅ Skeleton Staff Available for Urgent Medical Concerns

• A skeleton staff will be available via phone support for urgent medical concerns during the closure.
