AR Plastic Surgery Covid-19 Update For Office and Surgery Bookings From Dec 2021

With the relaxation of Queensland borders on 13 December 2021, AR Plastic Surgery in line with Qld Health and The Wesley Hospital campus has implemented the following changes as part of our Covidsafe Plan in order to protect our team, our patients and the wider community.   Please familiarise yourself with the following requirements when attending appointments at AR Plastic Surgery from 13 Dec 2021.

Face masks

As a precautionary measure, we will reintroduce the mandatory wearing of face masks while in rooms. From Monday 13 December 2021, anyone entering our practice, including patients, staff, carers and doctors will be required to wear a surgical mask.

Covid-19 Vaccinations

In order to protect our team and our wider community, it is now a requirement for anyone 16 years and above that, you show your digital vaccination certificate on arrival to our practice.  If you do not have a vaccination certificate and have not double been vaccinated against Covid-19, please inform our team as soon as possible. Unvaccinated patients must have a negative COVID-19 test 72 hours prior to attending our office.  Unvaccinated patients who qualify for a face to face appointment are to be scheduled at the end of the day and must wear surgical maskson arrival. Alternative options such as telehealth appointments may be offered as an alternative where appropriate.

Face to face appointments

  • Only patients with an appointment should enter our rooms unless the patient is under 18 years, has a disability or is supporting a maternity patient. No unvaccinated visitors or carers are permitted to attend.
  • Appointment confirmation emails/texts are sent requesting patients who are unwell, have been to a noted hot spot or who may have been exposed, to contact our rooms immediately.  These patients will NOT be permitted to attend our rooms until exclusion periods have been attended to and a negative COVID-19 test is received 72 hours prior to their relevant appointment.
  • All patients are asked to sit socially distanced at least 1.5m apart, markers are placed on the floor to show patients where to stand
  • Masks are to be worn by staff and patients from 13th December 2021 until further notice
  • Temperatures will be taken on arrival
  • All patients will need to register with the Check-in Qld app on arrival

How will this affect my surgery?

As each hospital will have individual requirements it is important that you contact the hospital where your procedure will take place in advance of your surgery.  Our team can further assist you with this if required.

Effective Wednesday 22nd Dec  all elective surgery admissions to The Wesley Hospital will require a negative PCR test prior to admission.  It is advised that you contact the Wesley Hospital should you have further questions.

Interstate patients

Please be aware of the following requirements for patients travelling to Queensland from interstate on or after 13 December 2021.   Patients who have been in a declared hotspot in the past 14 days may travel to Queensland provided they:

  1. are fully vaccinated
  2. have had a negative COVID-19 test taken within the 72 hours prior to travel into Queensland
  3. agree to get a COVID-19 PCR test on day five following arrival into Queensland.

Patients arriving in Queensland from an unrestricted border zone area are not required to have had a COVID-19 test prior to entering the state.

These directions are subject to change and we will continue to keep you updated as we receive more information with Qld Health.  Thank you for your continued support and cooperation.   We really appreciate this!
