COVID19 UPDATE:  Partial Easing of Restrictions for Consultations, Surgery and Cosmetic Injectables in Queensland.

COVID 19 UPDATE

Our clinic doors are now open for medical consultations, injectables and elective surgery for medical concerns.
What does this mean for you?
  • Medical consultations are allowed where covid19 screening is adhered to along with considerations of pain, disability and urgency factors.
  • Cosmetic injectables are now allowed in medical clinics in Queensland.  This will be assessed on a case by case situation.  As advised by the Australian Society of Plastic Surgeons, Dr Cheng will avoid peri-oral or around the mouth injections at this time given the greater risk of transmission to both the injector and the patient.
What procedures are considered medical for the purposes of consultation?

In addition to skin cancer, trauma and infection, consultations for the following may proceed if symptoms of pain, disability and urgency are present:

  • breast reconstruction after mastectomy
  • breast implants due to rupture, discomfort and pain
  • breast reduction due to pain and discomfort and disablity.
What elective surgery may be considered low risk, high benefit and be able to proceed if all other covid19 screening has been met?
  • breast reconstruction
  • breast implant removal
  • breast reduction surgery

We would like to do everything possible to keep you safe and flatten the curve to protect our community while still looking after you.  We continue to encourage telehealth or video/phone appointments where possible and for cosmetic consultations.  You can learn more about our telehealth in our clinic here.

If you are attending our rooms for face-to-face consultations we require patients to assist us with the following requests:

1. Attend your appointment at your scheduled time.  If you arrive early please remain in our building foyer or your car until your scheduled appointment time.

2. Please attend your appointment alone. Please refrain from bringing friends, family and children to your appointment as this increases the number of people in our rooms.

3. Please use the washrooms located just outside our office to wash your hands on arrival. Apply hand sanitiser provided at our reception lounge on arrival and departure.

4. Please respect social distancing requirements and remain 1.5m away from other clients and staff. #footshake only!

5. Temperature - for your safety and the safety of our team, temperatures will be taken on arrival.

6. Follow government guidelines with respect to travel and isolation as this will also apply to your appointments and surgery.

For patients attending a necessary appointment in our rooms you will need to answer the following screening questions?

1. Are you feeling unwell with symptoms such as fever, sore throat, cough or shortness of breath?

2. Have you had close contact* with someone who has a confirmed case of coronavirus (COVID-19)? *face-to-face contact for more than 15 minutes, or have shared an enclosed space for more than two hours.

3. Have you travelled overseas in the last 14 days?

4. How you travelled outside of Queensland in the last 14 days?

IF YOU ANSWERED YES TO any of the above questions PLEASE DO NOT ATTEND in person, contact our rooms immediately.
But that’s not all! We’ve also made changes within the practice:
  • All magazines have been removed from the waiting room to reduce the number of surfaces that need cleaning.
  • We’re encouraging patients to pay for their consultation prior to their appointment to reduce contact with our team and eftpos facilities.
  • And of course, there are the universal precautions we follow ALL the time... not just when there’s a pandemic!
We regularly sanitise communal and high touch areas to reduce the chances of contaminated surfaces.

Our employees are exercising the highest levels of personal hygiene including frequent and proper hand washing, using hand sanitiser, wearing face masks and gloves in the treatment room, and staying home if feeling at all unwell!

We continue to sterilise all equipment used during treatment, and wipe down treatment beds with disinfectants between EVERY single appointment.
